Creating Beautiful Gardens & Outdoor Spaces since 2007
Our Story
Bees & Beans Gardens are a Brighton based company working to create beautiful, imaginative gardens since 2007.
Our core team is comprised of Anna Sandhu and Tommy Kaminski - RHS Certified Gardeners, long time friends, and colleagues.

We work closely with each client to understand their wants and needs and find innovative solutions even in difficult spaces or on tight budgets, working with other experienced professionals to create those solutions.
Our love of design and knowledge of plants allows us to re-imagine gardens while capturing their original spirit. We enjoy creating naturalistic plantings which will work in their given location and be beneficial to local wildlife.

We have worked extensively both with schools and community groups and in private gardens, in projects including whole redesigns, planting plans, border designs and gradual improvement through regular maintenance.
We design with environment in mind, always reusing plants and materials where possible and sourcing supplies and contractors locally.
Our Team

Anna
Anna trained as a designer in 2013 and has since had some freedom to pursue her interests in design, plant selection and plant care with ornamental and edible plants.
She has worked a lot with schools and community groups, providing expertise to projects and running workshops to give others the skills and confidence to get growing.
She is RHS certified and has a Garden Design Diploma (merit) from Plumpton College, where she studied under Chelsea gilt winning designers Nigel Phillips and Nick Dexter.

Tommy
Tommy has been a professional gardener in the Brighton area since 2008. He is sensitive to each client’s requirements and enjoys working to a high standard to enhance people’s enjoyment and appreciation of their garden.

He has a passion for growing fruit and vegetables and has spent time learning about organic and permaculture growing techniques in Spain, South Africa and the Canary Islands. He is RHS certified.
Sustainability
Bees & Beans are environmentally aware and active in as many ways as possible.

We offer advice and information on organic growing of both ornamental and edible plants, and are happy to offer a fully organic service should the customer desire.
We work with our local community to promote sustainability through schools and community projects, community composting schemes etc. We use local materials in building where we can, and support suppliers with proven environmental records.
Though not fully organic, we use minimal amounts of chemicals and only for those things which cannot be done without them, for example lawn treatments.
We aim to improve soil conditions in all out garden by yearly addition of organic matter. This helps us to grow healthy plants which are more resilient to pests and diseases.
-
We offset our carbon emissions
-
We use peat free compost wherever possible
-
We produce our own compost wherever we can, and can help our clients to save money and energy by doing the same
-
We plant small in order to support lower impact nurseries (rather than peat and energy hungry production of larger plants) where possible
-
We can advise you on rainwater harvesting and irrigation systems to make your garden as water efficient as possible
-
We dispose of all our waste responsibly.
